About The Program
Forbes Show Stables is a full-service hunter, jumper, and equitation program dedicated to developing successful horse-and-rider partnerships through exceptional care, thoughtful training, and uncompromising horsemanship.
Led by professional rider and trainer Mia Forbes, out of Alpine Farm, the program offers a highly personalized approach tailored to the individual goals of each client and horse. With an emphasis on quality over quantity, Forbes Show Stables provides a supportive, professional environment where riders can grow confidently both in and out of the show ring.
From first lessons to national-level competition, our philosophy remains the same: prioritize the well-being of the horse, build strong fundamentals, and create lasting success through consistency, care, and attention to detail.
Mia Forbes is the Head Trainer and founder of Forbes Show Stables, a hunter, jumper, and equitation program focused on developing competitive riders through thoughtful horsemanship and individualized training.
Raised with a deep love for horses and the unwavering support of her mother, Mia built her career through hard work, persistence, and a determination to create opportunities wherever possible. As a competitive junior rider, she learned early on the value of strong horsemanship, consistency, and making the most of every opportunity. Without the advantage of a large horse-show budget growing up, she immersed herself in every aspect of the industry- riding, grooming, teaching, catch riding, and continually seeking opportunities to learn from respected professionals including Kris Killam, Michael Bonham, Janine Weatherby, and Heidi Hildebrand.
Those experiences ultimately led to a Head Trainer position at Dandelion Farm, where Mia spent more than seven years helping grow and develop the program before eventually venturing out to build Forbes Show Stables.
With over fifteen years of professional experience, Mia has guided riders and horses to championships, national finals, and top placings across the country. Her training philosophy blends structure, feel, and adaptability- recognizing that no two horses or riders are exactly alike.
Known for her intuitive understanding of horses and tailored approach to training, Mia creates an environment where both horse and rider can thrive- combining high-level coaching with a supportive, team-oriented atmosphere rooted in hard work, horsemanship, and genuine care for the horses and people involved in the sport.

About our Team Culture
Forbes Show Stables is proud to offer not only quality training and exceptional horse care, but also a genuinely positive and supportive barn environment.
We value good horsemanship, teamwork, encouragement, and creating a space where riders and families enjoy spending time together, both at home and at horse shows. Our barn culture is built around supporting one another, celebrating progress at every level, and helping riders grow with confidence both in and out of the saddle.
The welcoming atmosphere at Alpine Farm plays a huge role in that experience. Owners Stewart, Lonnie, and Marsha, have created a facility that feels warm, friendly, and inviting, and we are incredibly thankful to be based in an environment that reflects the values of our program.
